Conclusion
Tall PGs w the ability to throw every pass in the book, play offball and also defend multiple positions are a rare commodity. There's general worries about the shot, although I buy it if he's actually gonna attempt them and the amount of outlier skills makes him a surefire value add for any team.

Height: 6'8"
Wingspan: 7'0" ish
Weight: 195 lbs
Age: 19.58 years
Team: Kansas Jayhawks

Playmaking
- 6.4 ast%, 15.1 to%
- doesn't really pass the ball-like at all
- good burst, attacks defender's top foot well
- solid screen usage
Shooting
- 34.3 3p%, 70.3 ft%
- flashes of OTD shooting but most OTD J's are clanky
- good enough shooter to punish drops
- mostly a spot up shooter tho at this point

Miscellaneous
- generally has a great feel for moving without the ball
- in any other draft he's the best athlete by a country mile but he shares a draft w the Thompsons
Conclusion
An elite athlete w his feel and baseline of skills is a borderline lock to be a high level NBA player. The outlier traits, age and production despite an early season injury give him a pathway to stardom that few ever show, the worry is how good of a star can you be if you're not gonna create for others, not even a little bit.
Defense/Rebounding
- 2.4 blk%, 1.5 stl%, 17.7 dreb%, 6.7 oreb%

- touch is very poor as a finisher
- poor ball security on drives
Miscellaneous
- only really throws one pass well
- consistently got locked up by smaller and less athletic players
Conclusion
For a guy some have at two, this could seem strange, but its hard for us to buy into a guy who's sell is primary creator who can't dribble or create against NBA caliber defenders. He's a borderline elite shooter and a solid rebounder with flashes of creation and that's still solidly valuable even without much confidence in the creation.
Defense/Rebounding
- gets beat at the POA
- great close outs and general help defense
- can overgamble as a perimeter defender
- uses his strength to contain slower drivers well
- great screen nav on the perimeter

Conclusion
Had a tough year that was marred by injuries and trying to fit into an already established Duke rotation. He was still able to show some flashes of shooting, tough shotmaking and connective passing that'll make him a great roleplayer at the NBA level but its hard to buy the star ceiling after such a rough showing for his handle.
Defense/Rebounding
- 1.3 blk%, 2.8 stl%, 21.0 dreb%, 5.5 oreb%
- solid at the POA, though his screen nav is a lil suss
- too content to stay down for rebounds instead of helping on drives
- solid in lowman rotation, does a great job at cutting off dump off passes
- great help defense from the wing
Playmaking
- 20.8 ast%, 14.0 TO%
- can hit every type of pass in the PNR, hits small windows well
- makes really quick decisions consistently
- touch on passes is really nice
- can make live dribble passes w either hand
Shooting
- 44.7 3p%, 42.5 long2%, 77.1 ft%
- took nearly twice as many attempts off the dribble than off the catch
- has real NBA range
- real three level scorer and shot creator
Finishing
- 62.0% at the rim, 7-9 on dunks
- super left hand dominant as a driver
- great touch on floaters and touch shots

- hustles his ass off for loose balls
- hand-eye coordination is top tier
Conclusion
Defense/Rebounding
- 5.9 blk%, 1.6 stl%, 16.2 dreb%, 8.1 oreb%
- elite hand-eye coordination and timing, especially as a shotblocker
- great weakside rim protector
- great motor as a rebounder
- solid in recovery but gets beat at the POA by smaller players
- hips don't flip super quickly
- light feet on defense but poor footwork
Playmaking
- 8.6 ast%, 12.1 to%
- handle is only solid in a straight line
- can make basic kickouts
- makes a lot of lazy/predictable passes
Shooting
- 39.4 3p%, 37.2 long2%, 78.2 ft%
- great spot-up shooter
- gathers his feet quickly
Finishing
- 64.7% at the rim, 36-37 on dunks
- strong finisher w a few moves on the inside
- ok touch around the rim
Miscellaneous
- self creation is mostly in the post
- slow acceleration but solid top speed
- very quick leaper
Conclusion
A relatively simple offensive prospect with elite shotblocking instincts and tons of defensive versatility. He's gonna be an elite roleplayer for years to come, but I don't see what his path to stardom looks like unless he hits outlier outcomes as a shooter or defender.
Defense/Rebounding
- 2.1 blk%, 2.3 stl%, 12.0 dreb%, 2.6 oreb%
- stays glued to guy's hips at the POA
- really an irritant at the POA, just too skinny rn
- great instincts and hustle in scramble
- flips his hips v quickly
Playmaking
- 17.4 ast%, 15.7 to%
- great touch on all passes, especially lob passes
- makes legit connective passes
- handle is solidly tight

- has NBA range on spot ups
Finishing
- 68.8% at the rim, 12-13 on dunks
- great touch on floaters, runners and layups
- draws contact well around the rim
- crafty as a driver and cutter
- heavily prefers attacking from the left side of the floor
Miscellaneous
- only a 24.0 FTR, isn't bad for a guy who takes 2/3 jump shots
- high motor
- lots of right place right time plays
- not the highest vert but has great hang time
Conclusion
Kobe is a super young sophomore(younger than many freshman) who projects as an elite roleplayer at the next level with upside to be one of the best two-way guards in the league. If he can put on a little bit of weight, Bufkin is the kind of player that contending teams will be salivating over for a decade or more, a legit three level scorer who can defend the POA and keep the ball hopping while not giving up anything and fitting next to any kind of player.
Defense/Rebounding
- good at POA, just needs to work on the footwork
- hands are incredible
- not always engaged offball
- weakside rim rotations are a step slow but he's so athletic it almost doesn't matter
Playmaking
- can draw doubles/help and kickout, just doesn't always see them
- delivery could stand to improve
- king of the pass fake
- over telegraphs passes, doesn't pass til he has to
- can throw impressive connective passes but doesn't throw them consistently
Shooting
- very flicky jumper
- definitely prefers to drive
Finishing
- has a solid bag of counters
- has ok touch around the rim but poor body control
- can hit tough shots when under control
- can finish through contact, not a ton of versatility as a finisher tho
Miscellaneous
- OTE stats are munked
- potential to be a ft tank at the next level
- tends to get sped up too easily
- top tier cutter
Conclusion
This placement seems strange after Amen at two, but the decision making and defense gap is solid and its hard to value an offball wing prospect who can't shoot and maybe doesn't project to at all. He's still an elite offball player despite being unable to shoot and its impossible to bet against a guy who's that level of athlete w his feel, if the shot continues to improve, this ranking is going to look very silly in a few year's time.
Defense/Rebounding
- 24.8 dreb%, 10.6 oreb%
- great defender in recovery, covers ground quickly
- great instincts around the rim
- uses length and athleticism well to shoot passing lanes
- hustles for rebounds on both ends of the floor
- has real positional versatility, can play in drop, as the low man, or as a switch big
Playmaking
- makes great kickouts out of drives when he sees them
- excellent hit-ahead passer in transition
- tries lots of high leverage passes, results in a lot of TO's
Shooting
- 32.7 3pt%, 79.2 ft%
- shot prep varies wildly shot to shot
- can hit any shot imaginable just off of touch alone
- great touch and ft indicators
Finishing
- has the best touch in the class
- can finish over and through contact
- the definition of a funky mover, gets downhill in iso at will
Miscellaneous
- avoids contact on the offensive end
- elite cutter and offball mover and screener
Conclusion
After testing the waters last year, Miller committed to the G League Ignite and showed an ability to run the team or scale back next to better teammates while also showing tons of motor on the defensive end. Miller has the potential to fill multiple roles for teams at the next level while being one of the few players with star potential outside of the top 3.
Defense/Rebounding
- 6.2 blk%, 2.2 stl%, 18.1 dreb%, 9.5 oreb%
- has solid mobility in tight spaces but isn't great when having to cover large amounts of ground
- POA defense is poor, consistently gets cooked by guys who are sub-NBA athletes and ballhandlers
- recovers well against smaller ballhandlers, questionable translation to next level tho
- great shotblocking instincts
- shoots passing lanes well to create pick-6's
Playmaking
- 12.4 ast%, 14.9 TO%
- great passer in the short roll
- makes quick decisions on interior passes and kickouts
- takes more time to read the floor from the perimeter
- uses his size to make reads the defense doesn't expect consistently
Shooting
- 34.7 3pt%, 38.4 long2%, 66.2 ft%
- flashes self created PU middies
- solid touch on floaters but overuses them
- can shoot some 3's SU but seems more comfortable on PU's
Finishing
- 69.3% at the rim, 31-32 on dunks
- avoids contact on drives
- powerful dunker
- too reliant on floaters and push shots for someone w his frame and handle
- when he gets inside he has good touch on layups
Miscellaneous
- 23.6 FTR is indicative of how contact averse he is around the rim
- not super athletic despite appearance-stiff mover
Conclusion
The big difference between our eval and other's tends to be that we don't see him as the defensive monster some do, and that he's more raw than most admit on the offensive end. He's still a unit on the defensive end, but he's more of a pure 5 than a 4/5 because of his limited mobility and inability to guard perimeter players w even a semblance of a handle.
